Pujya Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj gave a series of discourses on Devi Mahatmaya and enlightened the devotees. Swamiji beautifully summarized the Devi Bhagavat. Devi represents energy (shakti). There are two distinct fields, the outer being of matter and usually science deals with it. It is also objective field where we could utilize the progress made by other individuals over the course of history. In short, we do not have to reinvent the wheels. We can use computers, cars, planes and all other inventions made by others and utilize them to achieve whatever we want to in the outer world. We have made a lot of progress in this field in terms of making scientific inventions and innovations and made our life comfortable. The inner field is made up of mind and consciousness.  This is subjective field. Publications    Newsletters Gita Jayanti (Dec1, 2006) December 1st was the holy Sri Gita Jayanti. It was on this day that Sanjaya narrated to King Dhritarashtra the dialogue between Sri Krishna and Arjuna, and thus made the glorious teachings of the Lord available to us, and to people of the world, for all time. The message of the Bhagavad-Gita was given by the Lord Himself on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. The Gita shows a way to rise above the world of duality and the pairs of opposites, and to acquire eternal bliss and immortality. It is a gospel of action. It teaches the rigid performance of one’s duty in society, and a life of active struggle, keeping the inner being untouched by outer surroundings, and renouncing the fruits of actions as offerings unto the Lord. The Gita is a source of power and wisdom.  Gita Jayanti was celebrated in the ashram with Gita Parayan and worship of Lord very solemnly. Dattatreya Jayanti (Dec 5, 2006)  On holy of Dattatreya Jayanti, a grand Pooja, Archana and Yajana was performed at Sri Dattatreya Temple of the ashram. Devotees had their prasad in open air and enjoyed the grace of Lord’s Prasad as Van-Bhojan. Lord Dattatreya – He was a supreme yogi. Like Dakshinamurti, He was the Adi-Guru, the primal world teacher. The name or word ‘Dattatreya’ is constituted of two terms, ‘Datta’ and ‘Atreya’. In Sanskrit, ‘Datta’ means one who is bestowed as a gift, and ‘Atreya’ is derived from the name of a great sage called Atri. The son of Atri is Atreya. A descendent of Atri also is Atreya. One, who is bestowed as a divine child on the great sage Atri, by the Gods Brahma, Vishnu and Siva themselves, is Dattatreya.
