Publications Newsletters News Through Event photos Deepavali Celebrations & Annakoot Darsahn ( October 17 , 2017 – October 20, 2017) : A grand Lakshmi Poojan was organized at Sri Ashta Lakshmi Bhawan on the evening of Lakshmi Trayodashi (Dhanteras) on Oct 17, 2017. Sri Sri Sri Ashta Laxmi Bhavan was decorated with lighting, rangoli, pushpamala during Deepavali. A group Laxmi (Sri Yantra) Pujan was performed at Sri Sri Ashta Laxmi Bhavan in holy presence of Pujya Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj and joined by priest Sri Kamlesh Jha of the ashram. On Diwali day grand Annkoot was offered to Maa Sri Ashtalakshmi. A few weeks of planning and preparations of about thousand varieties of food items by so many devotees culminated in Grand Annakoot offering to Sri Ashtalaxmi Maa on Deepavali day. A grand Annakoot food court was organized and dinner was served to the poor people at Sivananda Ashram. Entire day over thousands of people came to the ashram for the Annakoot Darshan and evening aarti on Deepavali and New Year day, as per Hindu calendar. Number of Saints and Acharya visited the ashram also. Number of TV channels and news papers highlighted the selfless services of Sivananda Ashrm. Srimad Bhagawat Saptah ( Oct 21, 2017 – Oct 27, 2017) : Srimad Bhagawat Katha commenced with devotees joined for “Pothi Yatra” carried Sri Bal Krishna in procession with traditional orchestra and dancing and singing in praise Sri Lallaji Maharaj. From the Vyasa Peeth, Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj graced the devotees, the nectar of Srimad Bhagawata for seven days. Pujya Swamiji gets absorbed in a different realm while narrating and singing the Glories of the Lord and make others experience the same. Dr. Naren Joshi, Mrs. Virbalaben Joshi and Sri Chidambaram Joshi were ardent devotee of Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad. Dr. Joshi served as a trustee of Gujarat Divya Jivan Sangh. All these three good souls departed in last ten years. In their loving memory, Bhagavat Katha was organized by daughters of Dr. Joshi; Smt. Kalpanaben Pandya, Smt. Shailjaben & Gayatriben. The Srimad Bhagavata Maha purana describes the various Avatara of Vishnu. It is the most important among the eighteen Puranas and it is in poetry form. There are ten Avataras of Vishnu. The aim of every Avatara is to save the world from some great danger, to destroy the wicked and protect the virtuous. The ten Avataras are: Matsya (The Fish), Kurma (The Tortoise), Varaha (The Boar), Narasimha (The Man-Lion), Vamana (The Dwarf), Parasurama (Rama with the axe, the destroyer of the Kshatriya race), Ramachandra (the hero of the Ramayana—the son of Dasaratha, who destroyed Ravana), Sri Krishna, the teacher of the Gita, Buddha (the prince-ascetic, founder of Buddhism), and Kalki (the hero riding on a white horse, who is to come at the end of the Kali-Yuga) (SIVA) Sivananda Institute of Vedanta -Yoga Academy : As always, daily five Yogasana practice Classes and Two Yogasana – Meditation classes for beginners conducted and about six hundred new people participated these Yoga classes this month. Food for children through Narayana Seva, monthly grain distribution to the needy families through Vishwanath Seva Kendra, Daily Satsang & Puja Archana in the temples was performed at Ashram. Sunday satsang, Purnima’s Sri Satyanarayan Vrat Katha and Sri Lalita Sahasranam Parayana are regular part of the Ashram’s activities. Satsang & Tours of H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj during the Month of September 2017 Ahmedabad (Oct 1, 2017): On October 1st, Indian Red Cross Society, Ahmedabad organized get together of all Centurion blood donors and blood donation drive where thirty five people donated blood. They all were centurion blood donors and many of them were donating blood for 150th times or more. Revered Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj is also a Centurion Blood Donor. He is the only Monk, saffron centurion donor. H. E. Governor of Gujarat graced the occasion and he greeted all the donors by presenting a Red Rose. Gandhi Mitra Award Ceremony (Oct 1, 2017): Well known cafe of the town, “Vishala” organizes award presentation program every year. Revered Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji has standing invitation. Also, H. E. Governor of Gujarat is invited for this function. “Gandhi Mitra” award is a prestigious award given to the people who, works selflessly in the service of poor, sick and down trodden in remote area, especially for education, nourishment, cleanliness and making their women folk self sufficient to survive independently by doing some craft work and so on. At Gandhi Ashram: On Oct 2, 2017 Birth Anniversary of Pujya Bapuji, Mahatma Gandhi ji, Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram organized all religion prayer meeting. Revered Sri Swamiji lead the prayer meeting by chanting Vedic hymns. The spiritual leaders from other religious organizations namely Muslim Community, Revered Arch Bishop of Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, father Joseph Macwan spiritual head from Sikh, Jain, Buddha, Baha’i and Parsi all attended the meet. Leading Gujarat News Paper daily “Nav Gujarat Samay” community organized award presentation program at Kocharab Gandhi Ashram. Revered Sri SwamiJi Maharaj presided over the function and number of learned scholars and leading film stalwarts from Mumbai were awarded by Swamiji Maharaj. Program was conducted by Sri Ajay Umat, Principal Editor of the news paper. 25th AMA (Ahmedabad Management Association) week : Ahmedabad Management Association organized a week long program from Oct 3, 2017 to Oct 7, 2017. The theme of the talk this week was “How to live life of your dream ?” Revered Sri Sadhu Brahmavihari Das of BAPS, Brahma kumari Sister Shivani, Management guru Mr. G. Narayan, Revered Swami Anubhavananadaji and Revered Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji were the speakers for this Silver Jubilee of Management Week of AMA. Inspiring talks by all were well received by audience. Sri Mukeshbhai Patel conducted ceremony in his usual witty style. The culmination was the last day discourse “Energize with Fuel of Motivation” by Revered Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj and it was concluded with spectacular Yogasana demonstration by Yoga teachers group of Sivananda Ashram. Publications Newsletters News Through Event photos A grand Sri Lalita Sahasranam Parayan was organized by Sri Raj Rajeshwari Peetham, Kadi at Sri Sri Ashta Lakshmi Bhavan of Sivananda Ashram on Nov 12, 2017. More than 350 devotees chanted this holy hymns with great devotion. Most worshipful and Rev. Sri Swami Parmananda Bhartiji Maharaj (Dandi Swami ) blessed and graced the occasion. Maharudram ( Nov 13, 2017) : A Maha Rudram was performed at holy Sri Vishwanath Temple of Sivananda Ashram. It commenced at dawn. The worship, holy chant, 125000 Bilwa leaves were offered and it was concluded with Hawan at night around 10.00 pm. Pandits (Archakas and Ritwicks ) came from South Andhara Pradesh. Chants of holy mantra filled the air with divine vibrations at the Ashram. Celebration of 50 th Punya Tithi Mahotsav of Sri Rang Avadhoot Maharaj (Nov 17, 2017 & Nov 18, 2017): Most worshipful and Revered Brahmleen Sri Rang Avdhootji Maharaj’ 50 th Punya Tithi Mahotsav is planned by Rang Parivar at Nareshwar. It will be a Year long celebrations. It commenced at Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad. Ashram hosted devotees from the east and the west for this two days commencement program. Program was declared open by Pujya Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj and Revered Padma Bhushan Pandit Jasrajji Maharaj by lighting the Lamp. Bharatiya choir from U. K. presented memorable two hours long program in the forenoon and Revered Pandit Jasrajji presented heavenly divine singing in the evening. Honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Sri Vijay Rupaniji graced the evening program and Honorable Prime Minister of India, Sri Narendra Modi addressed the gathering by video conference. On Nov 19, 2017 Yearly home Satsang was organized at Divya Jivan Sanskrutik Sangh’s trustee Sri Prakashbhai & Smt. Bhartiben Soni’s house which was attended by very large number of devotees. Gita Jayanti Celebration (Nov 30, 2017): Devotees joined for recitation of Gita and special worship of Lord Sri Krishna on Gita Jayanti celebration at Sri Sri Ashta Lakshmi Bhavan of the ashram. Sivananda Ashram’s Yoga Teachers participated at Adani Ahmedabad Marathon with slogan “Run4OurSoldiers ” on Nov 26, 2017. Satsang and tours of H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Mahahraj during the Month of November 2017 Karnal & Ambala, Haryana( Nov 1, 2017 – Nov 5, 2017): Karnal is a city of King Karna. At famous Karneshwar Mahadev at Karnal (Haryana), Srimad Bhagavat Katha was organized by Katha Samiti of Sri Karneshwar Mahadev. It commenced with grand procession. Sri Swamiji was adorned upon the decorated chariot. 108 women with with ” Mangal Kalasha” on the head and with the orchestra the procession moved on a street with all dignity. Katha was commenced on Oct 29, 2017 afternoon after the procession and was concluded on Nov 4, 2017 afternoon. A grand Bhandara was organized every day after the Katha. On November 4, 2017 Revered Swamiji with devotee group from Ahmedabad visited the dispensary run by Sri Guru Nanakdev, fFree Homeopath Service. Rev. Sri Swamiji conducted Satsang and honored all volunteers, who are giving selfless at this clinic. Nov 5, 2017 morning, a special satsang was organized at Purushottam Niwas for the eminent citizens of Karnal. Revered Sri Swamiji spoke on the subject of ” You are the solution of your own problems”. After the satsang, Sri Swamiji made drive to Ambala. Before going to Ambala, tree plantation was done by Swamiji. Ambala: Revered Swamiji Maharaj arrived here at “Prakash Sadan “. Home satsang was arranged by Gurudev Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj. After Prasad, Sri Swamiji left for Ludhiana. Ludhiana (Nov 6, 2017 – Nov 9, 2017): At Ludhiana, every day Sri Swamiji Maharaj conducted Satsang at famous Rakh Bagh from 7.15 am. to 8.30 am. which was followed by Q & A session and with guided meditation. On No 8, 2017 forenoon, Revered Swamiji’s discourse was organized at D.A.V. school. Tree plantation was done and Rev. Swamiji addressed large gathering of youth. On Nov 9, 2017 morning, Revered Swamiji left for Pachkula, Haryana. Panchkula, Chandigarh & Mohali ( Nov 9, 2017 – Nov 11, 2017): Pachkula is in Haryana. Mohali is in Punjab and Chandigarh is capital of Haryana and Punjab. Rev. Swamiji has spent two days and nights between these three cities. Sri Swamiji graced devotees home and had home satsang. Sri Swamiji visited Scortish hospital and blessed old ailing devotees of Rev. Guru Bhagwan Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj. Karnal, Delhi ( Nov 11, 2017): On his way to Delhi, Rev. Swamiji had brief stay, Satsang and mid-day meal at Sri Karneshwar Mahadev temple, Karnal. Late in the afternoon, Rev. Swamiji arrived at Dwarka, Delhi. Sri Swamiji had Satsang at Palam, Dwarka and Moti Bagh which was organized by manager of Air India, Mr. Rajnish Kashyap and Sri Anjani Nandan Sharma, IFS, Principal Secretary of Forest Conservator. Swamiji left for Ahmedabad on Nov 13, 2017 in the morning. Ahmedabad (Nov 20, 2017); Sri Swamiji Maharaj graced and blessed a large gathering of Sri Bhagavad Gita Jnan Yajna organized by Zydus Pharma group of Industries. Revered Sri Upendra Pandyaji was on Vyasa peeth. It was organized at Gujarat University’s grand auditorium. Himmatnagar, Ambaji & Mount Abu (Nov 22 & Nov 23, 2017): Most Rev. and worshipful Sri Swami Ishwarananda Giriji Maharaj’s Shodashi was organized at his ashram at Mount Abu. Rev. Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj and group of devotees paid homage to Revered Saint. A large number of saints and sages attended this ceremony. On his way to Mt. Abu, Sri Swamiji had Satsang at Sri Dilipbhai Gandhi’s house and also had darshan of Sri Sri Sri Ambaji at Abu – Ambaji. Kanyakumari ( Nov 24, 2017): Early morning of Nov 24, 2017 Sri Swami Maharaj travelled to Sri Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari. In the afternoon, from 4.00 pm. to 5.30 pm. The New Year 2018 began with satsang and prayers here at sacred ashram of Gurudev Swami Sivananda. Prayers for the peace and harmony of the world at large. Peace in the East & West, Peace in the North & South. Peace abides amongst the individuals as well as Nations. As always, daily five Yogasana practice Classes and Two Yogasana – Meditation classes for beginners, Reiki training for level I and II and Yogic consultation went on smoothly during the month. A special Satsang and get to gather at the Ashram (Jan 13, 2018) : January 13th is the foundation day of The Divine Life Society, Rishikesh. Society was registered at Ambala (Haryana) on Jan 13, 936. Ashram organized get to gather of Yoga teachers and had a special satsang. On Jan 26, 2018 (69th Republic Day of India) National flag was hoisted by Sri Swamiji at the Ashram Lawn Garden.. On this occasion, Pujya Swamiji gave inspiring speech. He said “ Let us love our nation. Let us save the nation. not to harm by creating chaos and setting fire. This is all unfortunate misbehavior of misguided youth. Let us learn to love and value non violence. Let us try to understand value of human life and value of our Nation’s property. Be calm. Spend time with the SELF. Meditate regularly. Pray fervently, dive deep in the recess of the heart and find the pearls of Bliss Absolute. In the evening, there was Sunderkand Parayan by Sri Ajay Yajnikji of Delhi, which was attended by large number of Devotees. Revered Sri Swamiji, Smt. Poonam Thawaniji, Sri Arun Ozaji and all trustees of Gujarat Divya Jivan Sangh were invited at Governor House for High Tea. On Jan 27, 2018 Sri Swami Chidananda Memorial Lecture by H. H. Sri Swami Avadheshanandaji Maharaj, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of Juna Peethadhishwar was organized at “CHIDANANDAM” of Sivananda Ashram. There was vocal devotional music by Smt. Chintal Shah, Smt. Mayurika Oza ad Smt. Bansariben Bhatt was soul Stirring . Revered Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj gave welcome and introductory speech which was followed by Rev. Sri Piyush Desai and Sri Shreyas Pandya welcomed Revered Swamiji Maharaj by offering Khadi Silk Shawl and Garland of Pearls. After vote of thanks by Sri Arunbhai Oza, grand dinner was served to all. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj graced the birthday satsang in Thane at the home of Sri Akhilesh Seth, a son of late Sri Bholanath Seth. Sri Bholanathji’s grand father late Sri Swami Sevakanandaji Maharaj , uncle and aunt were initiated in the order of Sanyas, by Gurudev Sri Swami Chidanandaji Maharaj. In the late evening, Sri Swamiji arrived at the devotees of Sri Parmananda Bhandar and they enjoyed satsang with Pujya Swamiji. On Jan 2, 2018 In the forenoon, Sri Swamiji addressed the inmates of senior citizen’s home “Aadhar” at Borivali. Sri Swamiji joined his mid-day meal with them. They all were happy for Pujya Swamiji’s presence and receiving HIS blessings. Pujya Swamiji’s Satsang & Tour to East Africa (Jan 3, 2018 – Jan 9, 2018) Lucasa (Jan 3, 2018): Honoring the invitation of Devotees, Brahmleen Sri Rang Avadhoot Maharaj had went to East Africa four months before His Mahasamadhi. Hence, devotee group of 140 from Sri Rang Seva Sadan, Nareshwar visited the holy places where their Guru has graced and sanctified the land. Entire group visited number of such holy places. In the evening the satsang, grand Paduka Poojan, discourse by Revered Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj and concluding with Dattanam Sankirtan & chanting of Dattabavani by devotees. After visiting holy memorable places in the evening, there was a grand satsang at famous “ Sanatan Dharma Temple” followed by feast for all. As always, daily five Yogasana practice Classes and Two Yogasana – Meditation classes for beginners, Reiki training for level I and II and Yogic consultation went on smoothly during the month. Food for children through Narayana Seva, monthly 600 kg grain distribution to the needy families through Vishwanath Seva Kendra, Daily Satsang & Puja Archana in the temples was performed at Ashram. Sunday satsang, Purnima’s Sri Satyanarayan Vrat Katha and Sri Lalita Sahasranam Parayana are regular part of the Ashram’s activities. A special Satsang and get to gather at the Ashram (Jan 13, 2018) : January 13th is the foundation day of The Divine Life Society, Rishikesh. Society was registered at Ambala (Haryana) on Jan 13, 936. Ashram organized get to gather of Yoga teachers and had a special satsang. On Jan 26, 2018 (69th Republic Day of India) National flag was hoisted by Sri Swamiji at the Ashram Lawn Garden.. On this occasion, Pujya Swamiji gave inspiring speech. He said “ Let us love our nation. Let us save the nation. not to harm by creating chaos and setting fire. This is all unfortunate misbehavior of misguided youth. Let us learn to love and value non violence. Let us try to understand value of human life and value of our Nation’s property. Be calm. Publications Newsletters News Through Event photos The month of February was highlighted with the grand Shivaratri Utsav, Spiritual Retreat & Acupressure treatment camp here at the Ashram. Acupressure Treatment camp (Feb 6, 2018 – Feb 12, 2018) six days camp for free teaching and Acupressure treatment was organized at Sivananda Ashram with the courtesy of Sri Jai Bhagwan Trust of Mumbai. Guruji Sri Navnitbhai Shah with his team of six teachers and a few experts in the field of Acupressure treatment organized the entire program. 130 candidates were given practical knowledge of how to treat patients. And more than 1200 patients received free service and they all were grateful of this wonderful seva offered at Sivananda Ashram. This Acupressure camp was concluded with the blessings of H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj on Feb 12, 2018 . All teachers from Mumbai and ashram authorities were given special honor for their selfless service. Program concluded with half an hour entertainment program by Sri Dinker Mehta and a peace prayer for world peace. Spiritual Retreat ( Feb 10, 2018 – Feb 12, 2018) Three days Sadhana Shibir was organized at Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad. Forenoon session used to commence at 10.00 am. and continued up to 12.30 pm in which Sivananda Ashram prayer and Geeta chanting was organized. Smt. Rupa Majmudar gave a talk all three days and shared the life and teachings of Gurudev Sri Swami Sivanandaji and Sri Swami Chidanandaji Maharaj. In the afternoon session, Sri Vishnu Sahasranam chanting and guided meditation conducted by Miss Sangeeta Thawani. Pujya Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj gave discourses and enlightened the seekers with HIS wisdom sharing. Evenings prayers and chanting at night satsang concluded the day. Shivaratri Festival : Feb 13, 2018 – Feb 14, 2018) Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad celebrated Holy Shivratri festival with great enthusiasm and devotion. Vedik Hymns and chants of “OM Namah Shivaya” filled the air with Divine vibrations. Holy Shri Vishwanath Temple was agog with worship of Lord Shiva. Pujya Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj offered a first pooja & Abhishek at 3.45 am. It started with Shodshopachar Pujan at 3.45 am and continued until the next day 4.00 am. Continuous flow of devotees came to the Lord Vishvanath Temple to pray and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva – who is considered Ashutosh. The Siva Lingam was worshipped by washing it with milk, curd, honey and rose water as the chants of Vedic Hymns, Namakam, Chamakam, Rudram, Ashtadhyaayi Rudra, Purushasuktam in praise of Lord Shiva. Shiva Lingam was adorned with special Shringar, Bilva leaves. Bilva leaves are believed to be very sacred and considered the best offering to Lord Shiva. There is a strong belief that sincere worship of Lord Shiva on the auspicious day of Shivaratri, absolves person of sins and liberates him from the cycle of birth and death. Devotees in large numbers sat in front of the temple in grandly decorated Pandal. Bhakti Sangeet (Devotional Songs) in praise of the Lord through out the night by outstanding singers namely Dr.Vasavda with his Hatkesh Swar Gunjan group, Smt. Dr. Monica Shah of Aradhana School and Tabla master Nakul Maharaj, Pandit Sri Nirajchandra Parikh and Ami Devi brought a special fervor to already charged atmosphere. Next day morning on Feb 14, 2018 a grand mahaprasad was served to the thousands of devotees at the ashram and Narayan seva in the form of food offering to the needy in the evening. Satsang & Programs of H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj during the Month of January 2018 On Feb 1, 2018 Anupam Mission celebrated its first anniversary of new temple at Ahmedabad as well as Upasana Griha. Honoring humble invitation, Revered Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj graced the occasion. In his sharing, he said, “ Never think that this idols are made of marble. Yes, they were made of marble but we have done “Pran-Pratishtha” last year. Having worshiped throughout the year, now they are alive. Publications Newsletters News Through Event photos Advance Yoga Teachers Training Course Through SIVA ( Sivananda International Yoga – Vedanta Academy (Feb 23, 2018 – March 13, 2018) : Three weeks YTTC for advanced Yoga students of Sivananda Yoga Studio, Taipei (Taiwan) at Sivananda Ashram Commenced on Feb 23, 2018 and continued until March 13, 2018. Respected Yogi James Lo, a director of Yoga and Sports Federation, Govt. of Taiwan and Founder President of Sivananda Yoga Studio at Taiwan led the team of fifteen Advanced yoga students. Other than Yoga and Reiki, knowledge of Bhagavad Gita, Patanjal Yoga Sutras and Ayurveda were taught during the three weeks course. Yoga valedictory function was organized on March 11, 2018. H. H. Sri Kamalanandaji Maharaj, senior monk of Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad awarded the certificates and Sri Vijay Soni, a trustee and a secretary of the ashram honored Mr. Yogi James Lo. Revered Sri Swamiji blessed them. Smt. Rupa Majmudar conducted the program. Holy Vasant Navaratri (March 18, 2018 – March 25, 2018) It is Sadhana time during nine days of Chaitra Navaratri at the Ashram. A group recitation of Sri Ramcharit Manas has commenced daily from 4 pm to 7 pm by Devotees at the Ashram. Temple priest Sri Kamlesh Jha conducted the entire Parayan. Smt. Mayurika Oza and Smt. Surekha Sonar assisted Sri Jha in chorus chanting. On the eighth day holy Yajna is planned and the nine days worship will culminate in Sri Ramnavami utsav, rejoicing the Birth of Lord Sri Rama. A special Yajna, archana, aarti, prasad will be offered to Lord Sri Rama at Holy Sri Rama Temple of the Ashram. On this festival of Ramnavami……… “Lord Rama is the supreme idol of the man of dharma, dutifulness and discipline. He shone more with the adornment of virtues than with royal reign. His grand personality and his flawless life of supreme dignity, humility and rectitude are a perennial inspiration to mankind for all times. Rama’s reign has become immortal as the welfare state par excellence based upon ethical conduct of life. The secret of the glory of Rama’s rule is the conception of duty that holds sway over all other factors. The people of the time, from the highest the Monarch Rama, down to the humblest and the lowest and the least of the citizens were governed by their sense of duty in their walk of life, private as well as public. The Ramayana is presented with the unique spirit. More than anything else this earnest urge is to fulfill one’s moral obligations and do one’s own duty at any cost in the interest of dharma and human welfare which inspired each one of the main personalities in this divine drama of Sri Rama Leela that was witnessed in the golden age of the Solar Dynasty, Raghuvansha. Man today speaks of the Law and order. In Rama Rajya the duty prevailed. This rule of duty governed even the personal life of Sri Rama himself. This is the need of the entire world today, the need to turn your attention more and more towards what you have to do for you. What is your duty? Not what is due to you should be your prime concern of life. Human relations were regulated by the feelings of duty and obligation and not emphasis on rights and privileges. The former made the later unnecessary. Duty calls for sacrifice. Sacrifice is possible through Selflessness. Selflessness springs forth from love for others. Such love arises in a pure heart. Purity of life is the greatest treasure. It is the root and fountain source of human welfare, peace and progress. A pure life is a rich mine of untold blessings. Dharma and devotion to God form the basis and the source of pure life. The fulfillment of dharma purifies your heart. Worship of God is the supreme purifier and destroys the defects of mental and moral imperfections of man. Thus through a life of faith, devotion and dharma grow one into the ideal man. Sow the seeds of permanent human welfare and supreme dutifulness. ‘Usher is the Rama Rajya of truth, love and service unto mankind. This is the silent message of Sri Rama’s life and reign. This is the immortal and eternal loving message of Sri Ramnavami, the sacred day that commemorates this Divine Superman of holy Ayodhya by Sarayu Stream.” – Swami Sivananda On March 31, 2018 Holy Sri Hanuman Jayanti was celebrated in ashram’s Hanuman temple with Sri Maruti Yajna, Pooja and Archana. A large number of Devotees joined the occasion. Satsang & Tour of H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj During the Month of March 2018 Vadali, Ambaji (March 4, 2018) : Honoring humble invitation of Saint Sri Tulsidasji Maharaj of Kabir Ashram,Vadali, North Gujarat, Pujya Swamiji Maharaj graced the ashram with the Taiwan yoga group and yoga teachers of the ashram also accompanied Sri Swamiji Maharaj. After a grand satsang which was attended by about 1200 villagers Bhandara was organized to one and all by the generous management of Kabir Ashram. After satsang and mid-day meal, entire team paid homage and visited famous Ambaji temple at Ambaji Township. At the dusk, the devotee group return back to Ashram. Gandhinagar (March 11, 2018) : Sola Municipality Medical College, Govt. of Gujarat organized its convocation (Saraswati Sanman ) program at Town Hall of Gandhinagar. Worshipful and revered Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj presided on Vyas Peeth and narrated Sri Rang Katha, life and teachings of Brahmleen Sri Rang Avadhootji Maharaj and enlightened the large number devotees. Credit goes to Dr. Indubhai Dave, a key organizer, who with Sri Abhirang Parivar organized everything so meticulously for the benefits of countless devotees of Sri Rang Avdhutji Maharaj. A special Satsang was held on April 20, 2018, on Sri Adi Shankaracharya’s Jayanti and on April 21, 2018, on Sri Ramanujacharyaji’s Jayanti at the Ashram. It was also happened to be Pujya Swamiji’s 74th birthday as per Hindu calendar and hence temple priest and members of temple management honored Sri Swamiji Maharaj with all ceremonial worship. After Sri Balaji temple, Sri Swamiji paid homage to Most Revered Sri Swami Madhavpriyadasji Maharaj of Sri Swami Narayan Gurukul. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj Annual function of Sivananda Ashram started with Navachandi Yajana and worship of Maa Sri Ashtalaxmi on April 29, 2018 and continued in the month of May that concluded with Pujya Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj’s 74 th Birthday celebration on May 3, 2018. It was indeed a spiritual feast for all the devotees to have satsang and darshan of Saints & Mahatma, Bhakti sangeet, Pujan, Archana, Everyday at early dawn program commenced with prayers for peace and practice of Yogasana, pranayama and meditation. Group chanting of Sri Mrutyunjay Mantra was conducted from 9.30 am to 11.30 am for peace and prosperity of world at large. This was conducted up to May 2, 2018. Evening session on April 28, 2018 was commenced by melodious devotional music of Ms Dhairya Mankad which was followed by discourse of Sri Ankit Trivedi, a well-known poet and author of many books. In his inspiring discourse, he said that pour your heart in any action you do, do it with then your work will shine and you will prosper. Second speaker was renowned Cardiologist Padmasri Dr. Tejas Patel. He shared very valuable tips to live long with healthy heart. On April 29, 2018 Sri Sri Sri Ashta Lakshmi Bhavan patotsav was celebrated with a grand Navchandi hawan-homam was performed at Sri Ashta Lakshmi Bhawan. Maha Prasad at lunch was served to all devotees. Forenoon session from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon was opened by welcome speech by Sri Arun Oza (Trustee) of ashram. Dr. Shailesh Thake, a Management guru took all devotees to fly high sky of the Divine Life by sharing words of wisdom with his vast experience of his global movement. Most respected Sri.Y. M. Shukla, a Charity Commissioner of Gujarat explained the moral and ethical duties of trustees of different trusts. Afternoon session commenced with holy group chanting Sri Vishnu Sahasranam. Sri Arunbhai Oza led the discussion of Gujarat Divya Jivan Sangh’s activities and he took pledge to make new 74 subscribers of Gujarati monthly journal “Divya Jivan spiritual journal to mark 74th Happy Birth Day of H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj. Most Revered Sri Swami Asanganandaji Maharaj of Gyan Vihar Ashram, Heranj was a speaker of the day to show the path to blessedness. His subject of discourse was full of practical tips for the sadhak. Most Revered Mahant of Sri Anada Bawa Ashram of Jamnagar H. H. Sri Devprasadji Maharaj spoke on the subject “Surrender, the highest step for spiritual practice”. He said, “ We live moment by moment, breath by breath. There is a lull after each breath. Each breath brings new life, each breath dies to give birth to new breath. What we do during this period ? Are we aware of our birth and death at each moment ? Feel these lulls with all possible divinities and highly spiritual awareness. Remember God, feed His Divine name to this vicious moments. Early Morning Prayer, meditation and felicitation program was organized from 5.30 am to 7.30 am, followed by Rev. Sri Swamiji’s visit of all temples and being Thursday, there was grand Paduka Poojan of most worshipful Guru Bhagwan Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj and Sri Swami Chidanandaji Maharaj. Special worship by devotees offered to their beloved Pujya Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj also which was followed by Ayushya Homam and Narayan Seva feeding. Evening satsang commenced by Sri Dhaivat Shukla and Ms. Dhairya Mankad’s divine singing. Saints and sages from far and near greeted and felicitated Revered Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji on his 74th Birth day. Program continued up to early dawn of May 4th with mid night meditation, felicitation and prasad. 41st Yoga Teachers Training Camp (Gujarati) ( May 5, 2018 – May 30, 2018) 24 participants were enrolled for this Yoga teachers Training Residential course for 20 days of 220 hours of education was imparted which includes yogasan, pranayama, meditation, relaxation technique, shankha prakshalan, Kriyas, mudras and Bandha. Other than practical yoga teaching, Bhagavad Gita, selected Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Reiki Science of natural healing part I & II, basic knowledge of Anatomy, Philosophy, Gynecology, Orthopedic, Ayurveda, diet, Yoga Psychology and Philosophy, management and Sanskrit was imparted by very experts of these subjects. They were Dr. Varsha Dave, Dr. Bhavin Joshi, Dr. Amish Kshatriya, Vaidya Bhavdeep Ganatra, Dr. Mihir Upadhyay, Smt. Chidrupini, Smt. Rupa Majmudar, and Ms. Sangeeta Thawaniji and Sri Suresh Patel gave their valuable service. Exams were conducted. Dr. Dhara A. Patel scored the highest overall. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji on Adi Shankra’s Text “Atma Bodh” ( June 1, 2018 – June 30, 2018): Pujya Swamiji’ s discourse series on “Atma Bodh” started on June 1, 2018 with Spiritual Retreat at Valsad, continued at Ashram from June 11, 2018 and concluded on June 30, 2018. Sri Swamiji’s wisdom sharing on “Atma bodh” meaning “Self-knowledge”, the knowledge of soul or the supreme spirit” was enlightening for the devotees. HE elaborated the original text which consists of sixty-eight verses and described the way to the attainment of the knowledge of the Atman. Shankara teaches that the Ultimate Reality or Brahman, the foundation of all, is beyond name and form, is of the nature of Pure Consciousness. 4th International Yoga Day Celebration ( June 21, 2018): 4 th International Yoga Day (June 21, 2018) was celebrated at Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad with great enthusiasm in presence and guidance of Pujya Swami Adhyatmanadaji Maharaj. Ashram had planned Yoga activities especially for this day and also, Yoga Teachers Team reached out to teach Yoga to distant places namely handicapped school children at Blind school, Business places, Residential school campus, Hospital centers etc. Thanks to Ashram’s Yoga Teachers for their dedication and selfless services to the benefits of all. Ten days prior to World Yoga Day, Ashram’s yoga teachers conducted free yoga classes for physically handicapped school children in blind school to boys & girls, deaf & dumb and handicapped. Special Yogasan, Pranayam, Relaxation training sessions were conducted for people at Zydus Moraiya Plant, Cadila Pharmaceutical Co, GCS Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre. National Sample Survey Organization Data Processing Centre ( NSSO & DPC ), Shri Narayan Guru Cultural School, Satellite, National Sample Survey Organization (NSSO). Concluding of the Yoga Day was grand at the Ashram with the evening function and inspiring talk on the subject of ” Yoga, a key to Healthy & Happy family” by Pujya Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji. He staid that healthy mother first, that follows healthy children and naturally that brings happiness to the family. Health is the greatest wealth. Start with simple but regular practice of yoga and pranayam and be healthy and happy. Dr. Varsha Dave (Gynecologist), Smt. Chidrupini Kshatriya(Dietician), Dr. Nitin Vora (Dean of Sola Medical College) also shared their thoughts. Function was concluded with prayer for World Peace and Dinner served to all. Satsang & Tour of H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj During the Month of June 2018. Chharodi (June 1, 2018): University of Nirma organizes its faculties refresher course every year. This year also, they invited Revered Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj to address the faculties and newly recruited professors. Sri Swamiji inspiring talk on the occasion on the subject of “Education, Teachings and Teacher” was well received by all. In his sharing, Swamiji said that education is a training for the life in which ethics has the most important role. Education of the intellect without moral discipline is injurious to human progress. Intelligence without character is a source of danger, both to the individual concerned and to his fellow men. Education must help to form a strong, pure and beautiful character. Teachers must have a spirit of self dedication because they have responsibility of great task of raising the citizens of tomorrow. The teacher should be a friendly guide for the students and never a superior, domineering master. He should be endowed with ethical perfection. Ultimately, the aim of real education is drawing out the dormant divinity lying hidden within each human beings”. Valsad (June 1, 2018 – June 9, 2018): On June 1st late evening, Sri Swamiji reached Valsad and addressed a gathering of devotees. This evening, satsang continued up to 8 pm and thereafter every day from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm at Club Resort auditorium. Thanks to Smt. Archana and Sri Ashokbhai Desai’s family for their sincere love and generous hospitality to Pujya Swamiji Maharaj. During his stay, Sri Swamiji Maharaj visited newly constructed Senior citizen home at Vapi. Also, Sri Swamiji paid homage and visited BAPS’s temple at Tithal and had satsang with saints of the institute. Birthday of Sri Yagnesh Desai, President of Divya Jivan Sangh (on June 2nd) and Sri Pratap Desai, Secretary and Trustee of Gujarat Divya Jivan Sangh (on June 3rd) were celebrated. On Thursday, June 7th Revered Swamiji attended satsang at Brahmakumari organization at Valsad. In Valsad and its vicinity towns, there are five yoga teachers trained at Sivananda Institute of Vedanta -Yoga Academy (SIVA), Sivananda Ashram (Ahmedabad). They all brought their students of yoga and on morning of June 6th yoga class was conducted by Sri Swamiji Maharaj. On June 9 th morning, Swamiji left for Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad (June 10, 2018) : “PRAYOG” Institute for Nature Cure and Yoga organized its annual zonal conference at Gandhi Ashram, Ahmedabad. Sri Swami Maharaj inaugurated it with lightening the lamp. In his inaugural speech, Swamiji said that let us be natural. Nature cure we need. Our original nature is BLISS. Unfortunately, we live life of all glamour, show and hypocrisy. Let us live moment to moment. We must learn to live in each breath. Bury the past. Live in present, do not create castle for future. Your key for the kingdom of future is your action and awareness of the present only. Sleep early, wake up early. Do not be slave to the mobile phone. Breath fresh air, have glimpses of Sun rise and Sun set every day. Watch stars and moon at night. Have a morning walk. Avoid canned and tinned foods. Eat fresh cooked food. Avoid white floor and aerated drinks. Keep cheerful. Meditate without fail. You will enrich your health and character. On 10th evening, Revered Sri Swami Maharaj presided over the function upon huble invitation of Ahmedabad Bengali Association’s fund raising function at Sri Pandit Dindayal Auditorium.
