“SIVA” – Yoga Center News
692nd Yoga Camp (Oct 1, 2007 – Oct 10, 2007) at Sivananda Ashram , A’bad: From Oct 1, 2007 to Oct 10, 2007 in hours of dawn 5.30 am -7.00am the holy Sivananda ashram ground was packed with yoga lovers. 692 nd Yoga, Meditation and Pranayama camp was organized. Dr. Tejas Patel, eminent cardiologist inaugurated the camp with lilting the lamp. The camp was conducted by Rev. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj and assisted by more than a dozen Yoga teachers of the ashram. Also one hundred and one Yoga enthusiasts participated in “Sankha Prakshalan Kriya” (cleansing of bowel) on Sunday, Oct 7, 2007. On the last day, the camp was concluded with remarks by Dr. Mayur Patel, a dibetologist & Dr. Ina Patel, Md.
Yoga Clinic – In the month of October, through Ashram’s Yoga clinic sixteen patients with different medical problems namely, Osteoarthritis, High Blood Pressure, Degenerative joint disease of spine, High Cholesterol, Menorrhegia, Chronic Acidity, Backache, Psychosis, OCD, Angioplasty, Bulging disc disease Diabetes Mellitus, Constipation, Bronchial Asthma were treated and comforted with holistic approach. Reiky session for healing by Reiky Master Rupa Majmundar is available also as needed.
Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti (Oct 2, 2007): Nation celebrated Pujya Bapuji, Mahatma Gandhiji's birth anniversary day on Oct 2, 2007. At well known Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad all religion prayer meeting was held which was led by Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji and presided over by H. E. Governor of Gujarat Shri Naval Kishore Sharmaji,
Gita Jana Yajana (Oct 1, 2007 - Oct 10, 2007) Gita Jana Yajna was organized in the evening from Oct 1, 2007 - Oct 10, 2007). Dr. Kishore Dave, former Principal of D.K.Y College, a Vice Chancellor of Gita university and a founder of Gita Vidyalaya Sadhana Mandir, Jamnagar gave discourses every day and enlightened the people with his deep knowledge on the subject and chanting the verses in his melodious voice.
"Navaratri"-Worship of God as a Mother (Oct 12, 2007 - Oct 21, 2007): Navaratri is traditionally time for Devi worship, a period of introspection and purification. It was an intense Sadhana time at the ashram during nine days of Navaratri. Each day commenced with early morning prayers & worship services at Sri Sri Sri Ashtalaxmi Bhavan, followed by recitation of Bhagavad Gita by devotees, led by Rev. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj. In the afternoon, group recitation of "Sri. Durga Saptashati" was truly enriching for all. Durga Saptashati is Devi Mmahatmaya of seven hundred Mantras, considered very potent. It forms a part of the Markandeya Purana, one of the 18 important puranas of Hinduism.
On eighth day of Navaratri, Kanya Pujan was performed to one hundred & ninety Kanya and they were presented gifts, cloths food etc. In the evening, under privileged children of slum area were treated with gifts of clothes, sweet meals, fruits and dakshina of Rs. 101.
Nights were rejoiced with worship of Mother Durga in the form of traditional garba and dandia-ras. Smt. Rupa Majmudar, Sri Manish Majmudar and Sri Jitubhai Patel were the source and force behind this festivity. On Sharad Purnima day, Oct 26th once again the festivity of Garba repeated and few other groups sponsored the events namely Gujarat Times, Senior Citizens of NRI families.

As Always, Revered Swami Adhyatmanandaji's itinerary was completely filled with spiritual programs, satsangs & tours in the month October 2007. He believes in service to known and unknown. "Manav Seva is Madhava Seva"- Swamiji preaches by putting it into practice in his own life. He cares least about his physical comforts & need. He is approachable to one and all. People from all walks of life get inspired in his holy presence. He is a true Karma Yogi.
Back to the Ashram: On Oct 29, 2007 Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji was invited to share his words of wisdom to the orientation program for professors of different universities at the Academic Staff College of Gujarat University.
