Publications Newsletters News In Slide Show Deepavali Celebration at Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad (Nov 7, 2007- Nov 9, 2007) – While devotees received “Adhyatama- Amrut”, a Diwali gift; Prasad booklet containing spiritual thoughts & Blessings of H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandji Maharaj, families in underprivileged area of the town received “Diwali Annakoot prasad” of Maa Sri Ashtalaxmi from Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad. One thousand and fifty Prasad packages, each containing about three pound of sweets were distributed on New Year day to poor families. Deepavali, a festival of light, joy & illumination was celebrated in true Sivanandic spirit of sharing, caring, loving and purifying at Sivananda Ashram, A’bad. On Dhanteras day (Nov 7, 2007), collective Laxmi Poojan by large numbers of devotees was performed at Sri Sri Ashta Laxmi Bhavan. A few weeks of planning and preparations of hundreds of food varieties by so many devotees culminated in Grand Annakoot offering to Sri Ashtalaxmi Maa on Deepavali day (Nov 9, 2007). Entire day, over thousands of people came to the ashram for the Holy Darshan and to receive the grace of Sri Sri Sri Ashtalakshmi Maa. Worshipful and Revered Doctor Swamiji Maharaj of BAPS graced the occasion. Late in the evening Aarti was performed by Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj which was followed by Diwali Annakoot dinner to about eight hundred devotees and distribution of one thousand and fifty packages, each containing three pounds of sweets and likes to under privilege people. News from Siva Yoga Center Yoga Teachers Training Course (YTTC) starting from Dec 11, 2007 – Dec 30, 2007 – On completion of three weeks residential YTTC and successfully passing the test including theory and practical, the graduate will receive a diploma certificate recognized by Gujarat University and will be able to teach Yogasana and Pranayama to others. During your stay at the Ashram, you will be provided a comfortable accommodation and yogic diet ( three meals / day). Ashram’s holy atmosphere is ideal for enhancing your spiritual growth as well as the skill in the field of science of Yoga.The donation for the course is Rs. 6000.00/ $ 200. You can still enroll. Revered Swamiji humbly accepted invitation of Diamond Jubilee function of Sri Harmish Shah & Platinum Jubilee function of Dr. T.N. Jasani. He blessed them both on the important milestones of their earthly sojourn. Sri Swamiji honored an invitation of Dr. Nitin Vora (director of E.S.T, Gov. of Gujarat) on the occasion of house warming and blessed them. Grain & Grocery distributed to poor and needy as always during the month of November 2007. Tours & Spiritual programs of H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Lucknow (Nov 15, 2007- Nov 17, 2007) -Sri Swamiji Maharaj was invited to a special occasion of “Surya Puja” (Sun worship) organized by Bhojpuri Sammelan. Rev. Swamiji enlightened the gathering with his words of wisdom. The gathering was attended by the speaker and ministers of Uttar Pradesh along with one hundred thousands devotees of Bhojpuri (Dialect) speaking congregation. On Nov 15, 2007 get together of Sivananda families of Lucknow was organized in the evening in the holy presence of Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj. On Nov 16, 2007 & Nov 17, 2007 yoga meditation camp and free medical camp was also organized. Delhi- Devotees at Delhi have a special privilege for satsang and darshan of Sri Swami Maharaj. On his way to Lucknow (Nov 15th) and back to Ahmedabad (Nov17th) as well as on Nov 24th & Nov 25th Sri Swamiji’s satsang were held at different places in Delhi & vicinity area. A discourse was organized at Hotel Kutub on Nov 25, 2007. Haridwar (Nov 18, 2007- Nov 24, 2007) Sri Sri Maa Anandamayee was a Great Mystic Saint of India. At 58th Annual Samyam Saptah, (Spiritual Retreat) was organized at Maa’s Ashram. From 19th early dawn onwards Swami Adhyatmanandaji joined the sessions. Sri Swamiji Maharaj was honored to be asked to speak of His reminiscence of Sri Sri Sri ‘MAA’ each day from 5:00pm to 5:30pm. Also during his stay at Haridwar Sri Swamiji’s discourses were organized at Vedanta Sammelan of Sri Paramananda Bhandar and for the employees of BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd). It was on the subject of ‘Unity in Diversity” and were well received by all. Panipat Sri Swami’s satsang was organized at Sri Ram Sharnam.Sri Swamiji’s visit to sick mother Smt. Usha Paramananda Monacha brought a solace to the family. She is a very old devotee of Most Worshipful Gurudev Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj. Karnal – A public meeting was organized at Sri Raghunath Mandir, Shobha Bhavan and at Sadar Bazaar. Devotees here are always ready and eager for Sri Swami Maharaj’s visit. Sri Swamiji brought a spot light on ‘The need of Spirituality in Human Life’. H. H. Saint Sri Amrikdevji Maharaj presided over the function. During Swamiji’s stay at Karnal, He visited Liberty shoe works and some more Industrial places. Also honored many devotees request and had home satangs. Entire visit to Karnal was organized by Sri Raghunath Temple together with Sri Karna Yoga Association. Yamunanagar (Nov 28, 2007)- On Nov 28, 2007 Sri Swamiji visited Yamunanagar and program were arranged at various places including Rotary Club Yamuna Nagar, Vedanta Sabha and Sri Dayananda College of Science & Arts. Ludhiana (Nov 29, 2007 & Nov 30, 2007) -At Ludhiana, Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj was supposed to have two days of rest and time in silence, a little break

Publications Newsletters 14th Yoga Teacher Training Course through “SIVA” – Sivananda International Vedanta and Yoga Academy at Sivananda Ashram, A’bad – Dec 11, 2007 – Dec 31, 2007 Students from U.K, Canada, Finland, Australia , Taiwan, Gangtok – Sikkim, Punjab and Gujarat participated in three weeks YTTC organized through Sivananda International Vedanta and Yoga Academy (‘SIVA’) of Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad from Dec 11, 2007 to Dec 31, 2007. All the students enjoyed their stay at the ashram. It was organized under the guidance and leadership of Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj and conducted by a team of yoga teachers, medical doctors & eminent scholars. On successful completion of the course each the student were received a diploma certificate by Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji which is recognized by Gujarat University. Gita Jayanti Satsang (Dec 20, 2007) It was indeed a joy to celebrate Gita Jayanti in the holy presence of Maha Mandleshwar H. H. Sri Swami Satyamitranandaji Maharaj on Thursday Dec 20, 2007. At a satsang, devotees recited Gita-Parayan which was followed by enlightening discourse ‘cling to Gita’ of Rev. Sri Swami Maharaj, highlighting how to be free from all obstacles of life and practical tips to live Gita in daily life for peace, joy & illumination. Dattatreya Jayanti (Dec 23, 2007) Sri Dattatreya Jayanti was celebrated with Sri Datta Yajana at Sri Dattatreya Temple of Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad. A grand Homatmak Laghu Rudra was performed at Sri Vishwanath Temple – Yajna Shala. About three hundred devotees participated in the Yajna worship and had Mahaprasad at Sivananda Annapurna Bhawan. Other News Students of YTTC held a special satsang on Christmas Eve with great enthusiasm, singing Christmas carol and Hymns from Holy Bible in the praise of Jesus Christ and Virgin Mother Mary. H. H. Sri Swami Hansanandaji Maharaj of Swargashram, Rishikesh graced the ashram with his holy presence from Dec 5, 2007 – Dec 7, 2007. He gave a talk on ‘Vedanta” and enlightened the devotees. His annual discourses at the bank of Ganga at Rishikesh in summer are a great attraction to all who get together at Swargashram during summer. On Dec 17, 2007 & Dec 19, 2007 Punya Tithi (passing away) of Sri Ganagananda Mataji and Beloved Dada Prof. Dr. Sri J. N. Moudgill respectively were observed with peace prayer and feeding to the poor. Tribute to H. H. Pujya Sri Swami Sahajanandaji Maharaj of Divine Life Society South Africa (Dec 10, 2007) Tours and Programs of H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj during the month of December 2007 Punjab & Haryana (Dec1, 2007 – Dec 4, 2007) Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj had a hectic tour to Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana area from Dec 1, 2007 to Dec 4, 2007) At Mohali: On Dec 1, 2007 at morning he arrived at Mohali and inaugurated new extension of Grover– Sivananda Photo Company. They cherished the memories of Sri Swamiji inaugurated the same firm eighteen years ago. It has flourished with His Blessings to the present status and now installing printing machine worth of Rs. 27 Lacks with modern & up to date computerized printing facilities. At Chandigarh: Dr. Nirmal Bhatia and Sri D. V. Bhatia (IAS) organized Sri Swamiji’s satsang at their home at Chandigarh. Sri Swamiji also graced number of devotee’s homes and honored an invitation to visit Sri Ashwani Sood Deodar’s Gas Station. At Panchkula; Sri Swamiji’s Satsang at Panchkula was held in memory of Late Dr. Sri Akshay Guptaji of famous Hero Honda. At Amritsar On Dec 2, 2007 Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj arrived at Amritsar. He visited the memorial place the famous “Jalainwala Bagh”. He visited holy Sri Harmandir Saheb (Gurudwara) and Satsang was organized at Rani Ka Bagh. At Jalandhar: In the evening of Sunday Dec 2, 2007 Sri Swamiji Maharaj paid his homage to Divya Prem Mandir, constructed by the devotees of Late Sri Swami Premanandaji Maharaj at Jalandhar. He graced number of devotees by visiting their homes honoring their humble and sincere request. At Ludhiana: On Monday 3rd morning Sri Swamiji’s Darshan and Satsang were organized at Rakh Bagh, Ludhiana. A special Prayer meeting and Bhandara was also organized at Nayyar house back of Kabir, Civil Lines, and Ludhiana. Sri Swamiji Maharaj visited Oshwal Woolen Industries also. Visit to Phillaur(Punjab) & Karnal(Haryana): On December 4th Sri Swamiji’s visit and Satsang were organized at Sri Dukh Bhanjan Hanuman 140′ height. At Phillaur Punjab and Sri Karneshwar Mahadev at Karnal Haryana. At Delhi: Devotees at Delhi were blessed by two visits of Rev. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj. For both the times Swamiji was in the Capital for attending Grand Gayatri Yajana. Mrs. Kusumben Patel of Gayatri Parivar organized the Yajana on Dec 9, 2007 and famous Hero Honda family organized the Yajana on Dec 16, 2007. Ashram offers more extended programs in all areas of Spirituality, Health Wellness, and Personal Growth, with an emphasis on Yoga and Meditation, under the guidance of H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj Yoga workshops and programs at Ashram are designed to integrate all aspects of life – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual – and help Sadhak finds inner peace and joy. Also through Sivananda Clinic at the ashram, patients with multiple medical problems are being treated on one to one bases. They are provided with expert instructions on yoga postures, breathing practices, relaxation techniques & meditation as a holistic way of healing. Healing through Reiki teaching and training sessions by Reiki Grand Master Mrs. Rupa Majmudar and Mr. Tapan Mankodi is also a part of regular activity. It included daily total nine hours of Meditation on ‘Omkar’ (Pranav Dhyan) in three sessions, discourses for two and a half hours in two sessions. The day started with first Dhyana session from 3:30 am to 6:30 am, second session 8:30 am to 11:30 am, third session from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm and again night session concluded at 8:30 pm. The entire program was directed and guided by Most Worshipful and Revered H. H. Sri Swami Pragnaranyaji Maharaj (also known as Swami Protoplasm). His entire vision “TO KNOW THY SELF” is based on teachings of Bhagvan Sri Sri Sri Ramana Maharshi. Inspiring educational video films also were shown to participants. Publications Newsletters News In Slide Show Mahashivaratri Utsav ( March 6, 2008) More than twelve thousand devotees thronged the Lord Vishvanath Temple to pray and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva on Maha Shivratri (March 6, 2008) at Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad. Chants of “Om Namah Shivaya” charged the air of Sivananda Ashram with Divine Vibrations. The Siva Lingam was worshipped by washing it with milk, curd, honey and rose water as the chants of Vedic Hymns, Namakam, Chamakam, Rudram and “Om Namah Shivaya” in praise of Siva continued. Continuous twenty five hours Siva Lingam worship services, including Lagurudra began in the early hours of dawn, 4.00am on March 6, 2008 until the next day 5.00 am on March 7, 2008. Siva Lingam was adorned with special Shringar and Rev. Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj performed Bhasma Arati. Siva temple was full of Bel (Bilva) leaves, which were offered to the Lingam. Bel leaves are believed to be very sacred. Bhakti Sangeet (Devotional Songs) in praise of the Lord by different musical groups (from 5.30pm until 5.00am) from Ahmedabad, Baroda, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Bharuch, Surat, Mumbai and Jodhpur of Rajasthan added a special fervor to already charged atmosphere with divine vibrations. Mahaprasad was served to all on next day. On March 4, 2008 Sri Swamiji Maharaj inaugurated four days long “Shivratri Retreat” organized at Chinmaya Mission, Ahmedabad. On the same day sixty different colleges of Gujarat University visited Sivananda Ashram. Three hours symposium was organized and was attended by large numbers of students. It was concluded by Swamiji’s address to the student assembly on the subject of ‘ effective speaking’. Concluding of Meditation Camp (Feb 25, 2006 – March 5, 2008) Pranav is Omkar. Pranav or Omkar is the essence of the spiritual Sadhana. Regular chanting of Omkara is the quintessence of Pranayam science. Pranayama is an important limb in the Yoga of meditation. It is necessary for all, in their daily life, for good health, success and prosperity in every walk of life. Swami Pranavaurnyamji Maharaj,( aged 87 years old) concluded his deep meditation and Pranav chanting for nine days.Under His guidance and leadership meditation retreat was organized and sincere Sadhaks participated in nine days rigorous spiritual discipline at Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad starting from Feb 25, 2008 which concluded on March 3, 2008. Feeding to poor and Grain distribution to needy and sick people was done on Third of the month. As always, Regular Yoga sessions were conducted through Yoga Center. Also, daily prayers, worship services at the Lord Vishvanath temple of the ashram, weekly Sunday satsangs and other spiritual activities Satya Narayan Puja, Sri Lalita Shahashranama chanting by Devi group were performed . Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj during the Month of March 2008 International Women’s Day (March 8, 2008) On March 8, 2008 Lion’s Club, Baroda organized a special function to celebrate International women’s day. It was held at grand stock exchange hall. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji was invited as a guest of honor. Swamiji spoke on the glories of Mother Divine. The women of India have preserved the spiritual character of our society. See woman as the Energy of God. He said that woman is the Divine power on earth. Woman is an Embodiment of sacrifice, Ahimsa and patience. Woman is an embodiment of patience, gentleness, softness, sweetness, service and Ahimsa. Swamiji cited the example of a great women of ancient time Gargi, Maitri, Arundhati & Madalsa to name a few and Women are the empowerment up to the present age in all field of life. Swamiji condemned the abortion of the female child and brought a spotlight to protection of women. Visit to Anoopam Mission, Mogri With great enthusiasm & devotion thousands of devotees gathered to celebrate Happy Birthday of their beloved H. H. Shri Jashbhai Saheb at Mogri (Anand). It was celebrated in spiritual way in holy presence of many Saints of Swaminarayan order. Publications Newsletters News In Slide Show Ahmedabad : Upon the earnest request of the Commandant of the 11th Division of the Indian Army, Shahi Bag Cantonment, Ahemdabad, a ten days long Yogasana, Pranayam and Meditation camp was conducted from May 31,2008 to June 9, 2008 . Sri Swami Adhyatmandaji Maharaj gave the introductory discourse, followed by Sri Atul Parikh, Sri Balram Saha and six other assistants who successfully conducted the rest of the camp. A grand closing ceremony was held and a memento was gifted to Rev. Sri Adhyatmandaji Maharaj. Tree plantation was the main feature of the program. 60th wedding anniversary of Sri. T. S. Srivastav (Retired Director of Flight safety, Indian Airlines) and Mrs. Savitri Srivastav, was celebrated with great enthusiasm by their children and close family members in presence of Sri Swamiji Maharaj at holy Sivannada ashram, On june 24th a grand Yajna (Aayushya Homa) was conducted in the temple followed by feeding to poor and an evening of devotional music. On June 26, 2008 Sri Swamiji Maharaj addressed the executives of Aroma Industries on the subject of “Stress Managment”. Sri Swamiji also graced “Darpan ” a famous Institute of Indian Classical Dance, drama and music run by Mrs. Mrinalini Sarabhai, a wife of late Dr. Vikram Sarabhai. On the 27, 2008 Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj visited well known Senior Citizen Home at Ahmedabad. He inspired them with his holy presence and with his imple message. He taught the gospel of Sivananda to practice in daily life, “Be simple, be humble, be noble, serve, love, give, purify, meditate and realize, inquire who I am? Know yourself and be free.” Sri Swamiji requested them to start their day with prayers, end their day with prayers and fill their day with prayers. Let God be the centre of life, God be the first, God be the last and God for all the time. On June 28, 2008 Sri Swamiji Maharaj and other saints of the Ashram inaugurated a well known Chennai based Bio Ceramic Product company at Bhopal named Cony Bio Health care India Pvt. Ltd. In the evening Sri Swamiji Maharaj addressed the students of Indian Institute of planning and management. This was followed by interaction session with students and Question answer session. A farewell get together was organized by well-wishers in honor of Smt. Poonam Mataji, secretary of the Ashram and for dedicated Yoga teacher, Dr. Snehal Amin & his family. They went to USA and UK respectively. On receiving the unfortunate news of heart attack followed by stroke and paralysis of H. H. Sri Swami Ram Swaroopanandaji Maharaj, from the H.Q. of the Divine Life Society, a special prayer was conducted seeking the blessing for his early recovery, good health and long life. This month ashram had a number of saints, guests and visitors from Kolkata, Lucknow, Delhi, Gaziabad, Jaipur, Junagadh, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Valsad, Sri Jagannath Puri(Nimapada). Regular yoga teaching, Reiki sharing, feeding the poor, distribution ration to the needy, acupressure, worship services at the temples, prayers and satsangs were conducted as usual. Spiritual Tour & Satsangs of H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj During the month of June 2008 Tithal (Valsad) Spiritual Retreat (June 1, 2008- June 6, 2008) : Sri Gujarat Divya Jivan organized annual spiritual, retreat at the Tithal sea shore. Seventy five sadhaks attended the Retreat, which was hosted by Jain Saint Sri Jinchandraji Maharaj (Bandhu Tripati). Revered Sri. Kiritchandraji Maharaj and Sri Jinchandraji Maharaj extended their generous hospitality to the entire group, looking after every essential need. Each of the participants enjoyed the camp by participating in early morning prayers followed by meditation at the sea shore and performing chanting of “Sri Vishnusahashram.” Evening discourses by Sri Swamiji Maharaj on Chapter Thirteen of Srimad Bhagavad Gita were well received by all. On June 2nd Sri Pratap Desai’s , secretary and on 3 rd June Sri Yagnesh Desai’s, president of the DLS branch, Valsad birthday was celebrated. This was a special treat for the participants. Mumbai : On June 6, 2008, Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji arrived Mumbai from Valsad. Sri Swamiji was received cordially at the railway station. A Satsang was organized by devotees and well-wishers at Kandivali Mumbai. Srimati Vishakha and Sri Maulesh Pota hosted the spiritual evening and dinner was served to all. Karnal : (June 7th & 8th) On the sincere and earnest invitation of Sri Amrik Singhji Maharaj of Nirmal Dham and Sri Satish Goyal, President of Sri Karma Yoga Association, karnal, Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj visited Karnal for a couple of days. Publications Newsletters News In Slide Show Ahmedabad : Upon the earnest request of the Commandant of the 11th Division of the Indian Army, Shahi Bag Cantonment, Ahemdabad, a ten days long Yogasana, Pranayam and Meditation camp was conducted from May 31,2008 to June 9, 2008 . Sri Swami Adhyatmandaji Maharaj gave the introductory discourse, followed by Sri Atul Parikh, Sri Balram Saha and six other assistants who successfully conducted the rest of the camp. A grand closing ceremony was held and a memento was gifted to Rev. Sri Adhyatmandaji Maharaj. Tree plantation was the main feature of the program. 60th wedding anniversary of Sri. T. S. Srivastav (Retired Director of Flight safety, Indian Airlines) and Mrs. Savitri Srivastav, was celebrated with great enthusiasm by their children and close family members in presence of Sri Swamiji Maharaj at holy Sivannada ashram, On june 24th a grand Yajna (Aayushya Homa) was conducted in the temple followed by feeding to poor and an evening of devotional music. On June 26, 2008 Sri Swamiji Maharaj addressed the executives of Aroma Industries on the subject of “Stress Managment”. Sri Swamiji also graced “Darpan ” a famous Institute of Indian Classical Dance, drama and music run by Mrs. Mrinalini Sarabhai, a wife of late Dr. Vikram Sarabhai. On the 27, 2008 Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj visited well known Senior Citizen Home at Ahmedabad. He inspired them with his holy presence and with his imple message. He taught the gospel of Sivananda to practice in daily life, “Be simple, be humble, be noble, serve, love, give, purify, meditate and realize, inquire who I am? Know yourself and be free.” Sri Swamiji requested them to start their day with prayers, end their day with prayers and fill their day with prayers. Let God be the centre of life, God be the first, God be the last and God for all the time. On June 28, 2008 Sri Swamiji Maharaj and other saints of the Ashram inaugurated a well known Chennai based Bio Ceramic Product company at Bhopal named Cony Bio Health care India Pvt. Ltd. In the evening Sri Swamiji Maharaj addressed the students of Indian Institute of planning and management. This was followed by interaction session with students and Question answer session. A farewell get together was organized by well-wishers in honor of Smt. Poonam Mataji, secretary of the Ashram and for dedicated Yoga teacher, Dr. Snehal Amin & his family. They went to USA and UK respectively. On receiving the unfortunate news of heart attack followed by stroke and paralysis of H. H. Sri Swami Ram Swaroopanandaji Maharaj, from the H.Q. of the Divine Life Society, a special prayer was conducted seeking the blessing for his early recovery, good health and long life. This month ashram had a number of saints, guests and visitors from Kolkata, Lucknow, Delhi, Gaziabad, Jaipur, Junagadh, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Valsad, Sri Jagannath Puri(Nimapada). Regular yoga teaching, Reiki sharing, feeding the poor, distribution ration to the needy, acupressure, worship services at the temples, prayers and satsangs were conducted as usual. Seventy five sadhaks attended the Retreat, which was hosted by Jain Saint Sri Jinchandraji Maharaj (Bandhu Tripati). Revered Sri. Kiritchandraji Maharaj and Sri Jinchandraji Maharaj extended their generous hospitality to the entire group, looking after every essential need. Each of the participants enjoyed the camp by participating in early morning prayers followed by meditation at the sea shore and performing chanting of “Sri Vishnusahashram.” Evening discourses by Sri Swamiji Maharaj on Chapter Thirteen of Srimad Bhagavad Gita were well received by all.
