Publications Newsletters Birthday Celebration of H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandji Maharaj In Slide Show H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandji’s Birthday Celebration (May 1, 2007- May 3, 2007) With great devotion and enthusiasm devotees at Sivananda Ashram, A’bad, celebrated the birthday of their Beloved Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj. As always, it was celebrated in a spiritual way with more Japa, Meditation and in the presence Holy Saints from May 1, 2007 to May 3, 2007. Each day began with group prayers in Brahmamuhurta (5.30am- 7.00am) Japa, candle light Tratak Kriya and Meditation in the ashram’s lawns, which followed a discourse by Revered Sri Dr. Swami Muktanandaji Maharaj of Alwar (Rajasthan) on the subject of Ashtang Yoga of Maharshi Patanjali. Also Maha Mrutyunjaya Mantra chanting was performed by devotees from 8-00 a.m. to 10-00 a.m.; 10-30 a.m. to 12 noon, 2-00 p.m. to 4-00 p.m. and 4-30 p.m. to 5-30 p.m. Devotees from all over Gujarat join in the celebration. On May 1, 2007 evening, Ms. Diptiben Desai’s vocal music received a great applause. Sri Tushar Shukla, a director of All India Radio, A’bad was key person for directing and presenting the evening function. It was simply wonderful evening. On May 2, 2007 H. E. Governor of Gujarat Pandit Sri Nawal Kishore Sharmaji presided and graced the function held on Birthday Eve. It began with melodious devotional vocal music by globally known couple Smt. Vibhaben & Sri Rasbihari Desai and words of wisdom by Dr. Swami Muktanandaji Maharaj, Maha Mandleshwar Sri Dayananda Vedpathiji Maharaj and Revered Maa Kankeshwariji. The highlight of the evening was honoring and awarding a few select group of individuals by H. E. Governor of Gujarat Sri Sharmaji for their selfless services dedicated to humanity. Fortunate and blessed such awardees were 1) Rev. Dr. Pankaj Shah (Manav Bhushan), Director, Cancer Hospital, Ahmedabad, 2) Sri Ramubhai Jilubha Jadeja, (Yoga Prachar Bhushan), Director Lakulish Yoga Institute, Bhavnagar, 3) Sri Harivadan P. Antani (Sivananda Ratna), Secretary, Divine Life Society, Rajkot, 4) Sri Sumantrai C. Desai (Sivananda Ratna), Secretary, Divine Life Society, Bharuch, 5) Shri Rasbihari Desai (Bhakti Sangeet Prachar Ratna) 6) Smt. Vibhaben Desai ( Sugam Sangeet Prachar Ratna) 7) Sri Sambhusingh Rajput (Seva Ratna) 8) Smt. Rupa Manish Majmudar (Seva Ratna), 9) Sri Suryakantbhai Chhantbar (Yoga Prachar Ratna)10) Dr. Snehal Amin (Yoga teacher and medical services) 11) Ms. Sangeeta Thawani (Yoga teacher) 12) Smt. Surekhaben Sonar.(Yoga Teacher) In his speech H. E. Governor once again said, ” Normally, I visit any institute once only, but it is not the same for Sivananda Ashram. I am very happy to say that this is my seventh visit in span of my two and half years of Gujarat Seva. The reason is that I come here to receive inspiration from Rev. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj. Swamiji’s ever shining face and vibrant personality is a source of inspiration and enlightenment to countless devotees of this institute and all over. The thirteen days long festival would not have been possible without participation and enthusiasm of the devotees. It shows the love and devotion you all have for Swamiji.. Sharmaji further added that I am delighted to award worthy individuals for their commitment to selfless services.. The wonderful seva works done through Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad is possible because of such sincere souls, who are striving and struggling to do best to the mankind. As Ahmedabad cancer hospital comes under Gujarat governor’s jurisdiction and I know personally Dr. Pankaj Shah and his commitment, dedication and devotion. I can understand that all the awardees of today’s function are of the same category. Swamiji! Please be sure! My visit to this institute does not need any formality, it requires only the occasion, just inform me and I will be with you all, whole heartedly, because all of you exist to serve the mankind, something Bharatmata would love and cherish, which I too love and appreciate.” At night, there was a special program of devotional music by Dr. Monicaben Shah from 11-00 p.m. to 12-00am, which followed midnight meditation and a very special felicitation of Happy Birthday Greetings for beloved Swami Adhyatmanandji Maharaj. Sri Ramaben Hariyani gave a little speech on this occasion also.Prasad was distributed to a large number of devotees, who were present at that special hour of the holy night by the hands of Rev. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj. May 3, 2007 commenced with Greetings and felicitation to Rev. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj. Devotees together with Pujya Swamiji lead a procession chanting Harinam Sankirtan to Sri Vishwanath Temple. Aayushya Homam was performed for Rev. Sri Swamiji Maharaj’s excellent health, long life and Sri Guru Krupa. After a special worship in the ashram temples and Holy Paduka Pooja (worship of sandals) of Sadgurudev Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj and Gurubhagavan Sri Swami Chidanandaji Maharaj, a grand feast (Mahaprasad) was served to hundreds of devotees. On this special day about two hundred and fifty under privileged children of surrounding areas were fed Ladoo, Namkin, Fruits and Milk. Evening program commenced with devotional vocal music by Sri Nayan Pancholi. Blessings by Maha Mandleshwar Sri Dayananda Vedpathiji Maharaj, Sri Dr. Swami Muktanandaji Maharaj and cultural program by school children of Sri Narayan Guru Cultural mission. The highlight of the evening was offering of Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj for His Master Gurumaharaj Sri Swami Chidanandaji Maharaj. The words can’t express Swamiji’s love and gratitude for His Master. Rev. Swamiji said, ” Anything good happening here is only Sri Guru Bhagavan Swami Chidanandaji Maharaj’s Will, Blessings and Grace. Any honour given to Swami Adhyatmananda is actually honor to Rev. Sadgurudev Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj and Guru Bhagavan Sri Swami Chidanandaji Maharaj. They dwell and exist in each brick and tree of this Ashram. That is not just my words but my experience at each moment of my life. Hence, when you all come to the ashram try to feel their holy presence and receive their Grace. Every one of you should have a copy of the Bhagavata in your house”……– Swami Sivananda Fortunate are those who get opportunity to listen to Srimad Bhagvata Katha and that too from Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj. Sitting on a Vyasapith (Vyasa seat), narrating the Lilas and teachings of the Lord Sri Krishna, Swamiji goes in different realm. The kirtan lead by Swamiji in ecstatic mood put others too in the same state, one has to be there to experience it. Ashram’s air thrilled with devotion during these seven days. Each day, Sri Lalaji Maharaj (Baby Krishna) was in different Shringar looking so charming. It is hard to take eyes off the beautiful Baby Krishna’s darshan. Maudgil Sahib this Srimad Bhagvata Saptah (in Hindi) was organized at Sivanada Ashram, Ahmedabad. On eighth day, at concluding of Katha feeding to under privileged was performed. Available on DVD’s now…… Yoga Camps (May 22, 2007- June 2, 2007 & June 21, 2007- June 30, 2007) A special Yoga Teaching in two sessions were conducted for 12 core army command at Shahibaug, Ahmedabad by accredited yoga teachers of Sivanada Ashram, Ahmedabad Sri Atul Parikh and Prof. Dr. Shalin. Commandant Col. Ranjeetsingh invited Rev. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj for lunch at command house 12 core infantry division, Ahmedabad. A tree plantation was done in the campus honouring Swamiji’s request. Regular Ashram Activities At Ashram regular Yoga classes in seven batches for beginners and advanced yoga students carried out this month as usual. There were two Reiky seminars were held under the leadership of Reiky Master Mrs. Rupa Majmundar. On Wednesday and Friday Yoga treatment for health-counselling and acupressure treatment were offered through Sivananda Clinic as usual. Many devotees participated in regular religious worships at the Ashram namely Guru Paduka Pooja on Thursday, a special evening worship at Sri Ashtalaksmi Bhavan on Friday, Sri Sunderkand Path on Saturday, a special Satsang on Sunday and daily night satsangs. Also Sri Lalita Sahasranam at Sri Ashtalakshmi Bhavan and Sri Satyanarayan pooja on full Moon day were performed. As always, on first Sunday Grain distributed to needy and on 3 rd of the month feeding to poor were done. Tours & programs of H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandji during the month of June 2007 “Mauna” Spiritual Retreat at Tithal -Valsad (June 1, 2007- June 6, 2007 ) “Silence is always the most real part of your being.When you are alone, you are silent. When you are alone, you are in God and, you are aware of God in you “- Swami Chidananda Gujarat Divya Jivan Sangh organized a six days “Mauna”-Spiritual Retreat at the sea shore of Tithal (Valsad) from June 1, 2007 to June 6, 2007. Spiritual Sadhaks from all over Gujarat and Maharashtra joined the retreat. Daily program consisted of one and half hours of group meditation six times a day. For rest of the day sadhaks in total silence spent their time in prayers, japa, and spiritual reading. The best part was to have early morning meditation and evening walk at the sea Shore. All six days, three meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) consisted of most satvik food Milk and Mangoes were served to all. No rotis, rice, spices or curry. It was wonderful experience. One session of meditation was organized at the adjacent prayer hall of Shantiniketan of Jain Bandhu Triputi’s Ashram. Number of saints and well wishers joined at concluding session and tree plantation was done at the Shanti Kunj of Osho families. The entire program was guided by Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj. Members of local branches of the Divine Life Society coordinated together with Valsad branch and the owner’s of the Osho Shanti Kunj for arranging it. Khedbrahma- Ambaji (June 15, 2007) A group of devotees headed by Sri Swami Adhyatmanadaji Maharaj paid homage to holy mother Sri Jagdamba at Ambaji on June 15, 2007. A traditional Yajna was performed and Bhandara was organised for devotees. On the way, the whole group had a satsang with Rev. Sri Swami Gurukrupanadaji Mahraj at his ashram in Sri Ramnagar (Khedbrahma). Visit to Delhi (June17, 2007- June18, 2007) Honouring humble invitation of M/S Hero Honda Automobile Group, Rev. Swamiji Maharaj visited Delhi. On June 17, 2007 evening satsang was organised at Hero Honda House in memory of late Sri Raman Munjal, founder of Hero Honda on the occasion of his Punya Tithi. On June 18, 2007 Rev. Swamiji addressed two gatherings, one at Hero Honda Plant Dharuhera, Haryana in the forenoon and another at production plant of Hero Honda Motor Cycle at Gurgaon in the evening. Visit to Karnal (June 19, 2007) On June 19, 2007 Sri Swami Maharaj arrived at Karnal the city of King Karna of the epic Mahabharata fame. Mr. Satish Goel, a chairman of Liberty Shoes arranged a royal welcome to Swamiji. On June 19, 2007 Grand Yoga demonstration function was organised at Sri Nirmal Dham, Karnal from 5.am to 8.am. It was a culmination of 19 days Yoga training program for children arranged by the institute of Sri Swami Amrikdevji Maharaj. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj together with many monks and visitors witnessed the grand finale yoga demonstration by children. Prizes in cash were awarded to the best yoga students as well

Publications Newsletters News In Slide Show Deepavali Celebration at Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad (Nov 7, 2007- Nov 9, 2007) – While devotees received “Adhyatama- Amrut”, a Diwali gift; Prasad booklet containing spiritual thoughts & Blessings of H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandji Maharaj, families in underprivileged area of the town received “Diwali Annakoot prasad” of Maa Sri Ashtalaxmi from Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad. One thousand and fifty Prasad packages, each containing about three pound of sweets were distributed on New Year day to poor families. Deepavali, a festival of light, joy & illumination was celebrated in true Sivanandic spirit of sharing, caring, loving and purifying at Sivananda Ashram, A’bad. On Dhanteras day (Nov 7, 2007), collective Laxmi Poojan by large numbers of devotees was performed at Sri Sri Ashta Laxmi Bhavan. A few weeks of planning and preparations of hundreds of food varieties by so many devotees culminated in Grand Annakoot offering to Sri Ashtalaxmi Maa on Deepavali day (Nov 9, 2007). Entire day, over thousands of people came to the ashram for the Holy Darshan and to receive the grace of Sri Sri Sri Ashtalakshmi Maa. Worshipful and Revered Doctor Swamiji Maharaj of BAPS graced the occasion. Late in the evening Aarti was performed by Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj which was followed by Diwali Annakoot dinner to about eight hundred devotees and distribution of one thousand and fifty packages, each containing three pounds of sweets and likes to under privilege people. News from Siva Yoga Center Yoga Teachers Training Course (YTTC) starting from Dec 11, 2007 – Dec 30, 2007 – On completion of three weeks residential YTTC and successfully passing the test including theory and practical, the graduate will receive a diploma certificate recognized by Gujarat University and will be able to teach Yogasana and Pranayama to others. Sri Swamiji Maharaj was honored to be asked to speak of His reminiscence of Sri Sri Sri ‘MAA’ each day from 5:00pm to 5:30pm. Also during his stay at Haridwar Sri Swamiji’s discourses were organized at Vedanta Sammelan of Sri Paramananda Bhandar and for the employees of BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd). It was on the subject of ‘Unity in Diversity” and were well received by all. Panipat Sri Swami’s satsang was organized at Sri Ram Sharnam.Sri Swamiji’s visit to sick mother Smt. Usha Paramananda Monacha brought a solace to the family. She is a very old devotee of Most Worshipful Gurudev Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj. Karnal – A public meeting was organized at Sri Raghunath Mandir, Shobha Bhavan and at Sadar Bazaar. Devotees here are always ready and eager for Sri Swami Maharaj’s visit. During Swamiji’s stay at Karnal, He visited Liberty shoe works and some more Industrial places. Also honored many devotees request and had home satangs. Entire visit to Karnal was organized by Sri Raghunath Temple together with Sri Karna Yoga Association. Yamunanagar (Nov 28, 2007)- On Nov 28, 2007 Sri Swamiji visited Yamunanagar and program were arranged at various places including Rotary Club Yamuna Nagar, Vedanta Sabha and Sri Dayananda College of Science & Arts. Publications Newsletters News In Slide Show Deepavali Celebration at Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad (Nov 7, 2007- Nov 9, 2007) – While devotees received “Adhyatama- Amrut”, a Diwali gift; Prasad booklet containing spiritual thoughts & Blessings of H. H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandji Maharaj, families in underprivileged area of the town received “Diwali Annakoot prasad” of Maa Sri Ashtalaxmi from Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad. One thousand and fifty Prasad packages, each containing about three pound of sweets were distributed on New Year day to poor families. Deepavali, a festival of light, joy & illumination was celebrated in true Sivanandic spirit of sharing, caring, loving and purifying at Sivananda Ashram, A’bad. On Dhanteras day (Nov 7, 2007), collective Laxmi Poojan by large numbers of devotees was performed at Sri Sri Ashta Laxmi Bhavan. A few weeks of planning and preparations of hundreds of food varieties by so many devotees culminated in Grand Annakoot offering to Sri Ashtalaxmi Maa on Deepavali day (Nov 9, 2007). Entire day, over thousands of people came to the ashram for the Holy Darshan and to receive the grace of Sri Sri Sri Ashtalakshmi Maa. Worshipful and Revered Doctor Swamiji Maharaj of BAPS graced the occasion. Late in the evening Aarti was performed by Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj which was followed by Diwali Annakoot dinner to about eight hundred devotees and distribution of one thousand and fifty packages, each containing three pounds of sweets and likes to under privilege people. Publications Newsletters 14th Yoga Teacher Training Course through “SIVA” – Sivananda International Vedanta and Yoga Academy at Sivananda Ashram, A’bad – Dec 11, 2007 – Dec 31, 2007 Students from U.K, Canada, Finland, Australia , Taiwan, Gangtok – Sikkim, Punjab and Gujarat participated in three weeks YTTC organized through Sivananda International Vedanta and Yoga Academy (‘SIVA’) of Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad from Dec 11, 2007 to Dec 31, 2007. All the students enjoyed their stay at the ashram. It was organized under the guidance and leadership of Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj and conducted by a team of yoga teachers, medical doctors & eminent scholars. On successful completion of the course each the student were received a diploma certificate by Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji which is recognized by Gujarat University. Gita Jayanti Satsang (Dec 20, 2007) It was indeed a joy to celebrate Gita Jayanti in the holy presence of Maha Mandleshwar H. H. Sri Swami Satyamitranandaji Maharaj on Thursday Dec 20, 2007. At a satsang, devotees recited Gita-Parayan which was followed by enlightening discourse ‘cling to Gita’ of Rev. Sri Swami Maharaj, highlighting how to be free from all obstacles of life and practical tips to live Gita in daily life for peace, joy & illumination. Dattatreya Jayanti (Dec 23, 2007) Sri Dattatreya Jayanti was celebrated with Sri Datta Yajana at Sri Dattatreya Temple of Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad. A grand Homatmak Laghu Rudra was performed at Sri Vishwanath Temple – Yajna Shala. About three hundred devotees participated in the Yajna worship and had Mahaprasad at Sivananda Annapurna Bhawan. At Phillaur Punjab and Sri Karneshwar Mahadev at Karnal Haryana. At Delhi: Devotees at Delhi were blessed by two visits of Rev. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj. For both the times Swamiji was in the Capital for attending Grand Gayatri Yajana. Mrs. Kusumben Patel of Gayatri Parivar organized the Yajana on Dec 9, 2007 and famous Hero Honda family organized the Yajana on Dec 16, 2007. At Nainpur – Jalaram Mandir Trust organized Gyatri 125 Kundi Mahayajana by Bhagini Kusumben Patel of Chicago Gayatri Shakti Pith. Publications Newsletters During the holy month of Shravan Sri Adhytmanandji gave discourses on Shrimad Bhagvatam in the Holy Sri Ashatlakshmi Bhavan. It concluded on September 7, 2002 on Shravani Amavasya day with Yajna and homam. As you already know, Sivananda Hospital at Adipur was severely damaged during the earthquake. The Hospital with Sri Radheshyam temple in it, has been renovated. In the morning of auspicious Janmashtami day (August 31, 2002) , reinstallation of idols of Sri Radha-Krishna and Lord Siva, in temple, was ceremonially performed by Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj. Pujya Swamiji came back in the evening to the Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad for Janmashtami celebration. Krishna Janma (Birthday Anniversary of Lord Krishna) was joyously celebrated by a large numbers of devotees. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandji Maharaj conducted 585 Yoga Camp at “Atmiya Institute of Technology-Yogidham, Rajkot. Six hundred twenty eight people, that included Principal, professors, students and seekers attended the camp. Pujya Swamiji also visited Virnagar and had Darshan of Samadhi Smarak (memorial) of Brahmlin Sri. Yagnavalkyanandji Maharj ( Pujya Sri Bapuji) and paid homage to the great Saint of Gujarat. Independence Day Celebration (Jan 26, 2008) with Chief secretary of Gujarat Sri Narendra ModiJi In the evening, Rev Sri Swamiji Maharaj & devotees of the ashram were invited to Governor’s House for Independence Day social gathering. 3 rd Brahmotsav of Hanuman Temple (Jan 26, 2008) “Maruti Yajana” was performed to mark the third Brahmotsav of Holy Sri Hanuman Temple and Mahaprasad was served to all the devotees. Also Sri Sunderkand Parayan by Sri Ajay Yajnikji of Delhi was organized on this occasion. Every body enjoyed his melodious singing in praise of Lord Sri Rama. On Jan 31, 2008 again Sri Sunderkand Parayan by Sri Ashwin Pathakji was organized at the ashram in the evening and a great number of devotees joined the holy satsang. Elocution competition for Youth (Jan 27, 2008) Gujarat Divya Jivan Sang, under the banner of “Adhyatmananda Vikas Youth Activities” organized Sighra (spotanious) Elocution competition for college children. Twenty six kids from thirteen colleges participated. It turned out to be very challenging and interesting to all, as it brought out real genius in youth spontaneous speaking on varied subjects like, karma, bhakti, jnana, spirituality & politics etc.. Sivananda Literature was distributed to all the participants and three winners ( first, second & Third) received prizes in cash in addition.Credit goes to Dr. Prof. Chirag Pandya for organizing this program. On Jan 6, 2008 Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji inaugurated hospital expansion of ICU unit equipments, Sivananda Library, Sivananda Conference Hall & Yoga Museum. Satsang at Khedbrahma (Jan 14, 2008 & Jan 15, 2008) Divya Jivan Sang, Kadiyara branch organized grand Spiritual Congregation at Ramnagar Kampa. It was attended by many saints, including Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj. Devotees came from near by villages for the satsang with Mahatmas. “Gaupujan” (cow worship) performed and hundreds of cows were set free for grazing in the field with crops, especially made ready for them at Rojanta on Makarsankranti day. A grand feast (Bhandara) was served to hundreds of devotees. H. H. Sri Swami Gurukrupanandaji Maharaj organized these program.
